Get Mental Health & Wellbeing Support Through Your Practice
In Rhondda Cynon Taff, each surgery has dedicated Mental Health Practitioners as part of the team. If you’re feeling anxious, low in mood, or struggling with your mental health in any way, you can call your GP practice for support.
Steps to Accessing Support from a Mental Health Practitioner
This service makes it easier to get help and access the right support when it’s needed most.
- When you contact your GP practice, the receptionist or care navigator will help you book an appointment with a Mental Health Practitioner – no referral needed.
- In your appointment, the practitioner will talk with you about how you’re feeling and carry out an initial assessment.
- They’ll then offer tailored advice, early support, and guidance towards the most suitable services – such as counselling, community groups, or specialist care.
